Ollie Phillips plays professional rugby at Newcastle Falcons and he also features regularly in the England Rugby Sevens team.
Ollie captained and guided the Newcastle Falcons to victory in the illustrious annual Middlesex Sevens rugby competition for first time in 2007.
Ollie recognises that fitness and wellbeing are lifestyle choices and little motivated steps lead to positive change. He also believes a holistic approach is the way forward, looking at how we think, how we achieve our goals and aspirations.
As an elite athlete Ollie has always been passionate about the benefits of healthy living and exercise; he realised that there is a lot of confusion as to how often people should exercise and what kind of programme they should follow.
Add to this the fact that there aren’t many of us who can afford a personal trainer, hence the birth of Jolly Fitness. Ollie and Joe are aware that there are many of us who cannot afford the constraints of a gym membership of the services of a personal trainer so their aim is to make the same level of fitness and nutritional advice they have access to as professional sports people easily accessible to everyone.
Last summer Ollie and Joe attended the world-famous IDEA annual fitness convention in the USA where they met with personal trainers, specialist fitness consultants, gym owners and representatives from health organisations which helped them gain an even greater knowledge of best health, fitness and exercise practices. They returned to the UK eager to share what they have learned with as many people as then can.
Neither Joe nor Ollie are the type of people to rest on their laurels and they are keen to further develop their fitness knowledge even further and they will be embarking on another development programme in the new year.
For the past year Ollie and Joe have been training a small group of people and all of them speak about Ollie and Joe’s enthusiasm and how they keep them motivated and ready for more – even turning up to training on those dark, cold winter mornings!
